After a lot of thought, I’ve decided that Deep Lore, as it currently exists, is coming to an end.
This wasn’t an easy choice, because I’ve genuinely enjoyed researching these stories, writing about them, and trying to present them in a way that felt thoughtful, atmospheric, and respectful. True crime has always fascinated me, not because of the violence or the darkness itself, but because of the unanswered questions. The strange details. The human choices. The moments where ordinary life suddenly becomes something else.
But over time, I’ve had to be honest with myself about what this kind of content requires.
Real true crime means real victims. Real families. Real grief. Real people whose worst moments can become entertainment, even when that is never the intention. And while I’ve always tried to approach these stories with care, I don’t want to keep building something that depends on real pain as its foundation.
So Deep Lore is changing.
Going forward, this channel will be moving away from real-world true crime and into fictional mystery, fictional crime, and eerie documentary-style storytelling. These stories will be clearly labeled as fiction. They will not be based on real cases. They will not be presented as real events. The goal is to keep the atmosphere, dread, mystery, and suspense that made true crime compelling, but without exploiting actual victims or their families.
Think of it as mystery storytelling from places that don’t exist, but feel like they could.
Small towns. Strange disappearances. Unsettling timelines. Local legends. Unanswered questions. Fictional case files. Stories built to feel grounded, eerie, and human, while giving us the creative freedom to explore darker ideas responsibly.
I know this change may not be for everyone. Some people came here specifically for real cases, and I completely understand if this new direction isn’t what you subscribed for. I appreciate you being here, even if this is where we part ways.
But for those who stick around, I think this could become something really special.
Deep Lore was always about the stories hiding in the shadows. Now, those shadows are going to be built from imagination instead of real tragedy.
Thank you for watching, listening, reading, and supporting the channel in its original form.
This is goodbye to Deep Lore as a true crime channel.
And hopefully, the beginning of something better.
